About Ara Damansara LRT Station, Petaling Jaya
Ara Damansara Light Rapid Transit station is part of Malaysia’s Kelana Jaya Line, previously known as the Putra LRT. The code for the station within the Rapid KL network is KJ26.
The station opened in 2016 as part of the extension of the Kelana Jaya Line. Like most other LRT stations in Klang Valley, the station is elevated and is built with an island architecture.
The station is proceeded by Lembah Subang, also roughly near Ara Damansara. The station after Ara Damansara is Glenmarie, with the train travelling towards USJ and terminating at Putra Heights.
Ara Damansara LRT station is also one of the larger ones within the Petaling Jaya area, boosting many facilities such as park-and-ride and extensive bus services.
It is not to be confused with the MRT line. Ara Damansara, unfortunately, is not served by any of the MRT lines.
In the future, it will have the Damansara Idaman station – part of the LRT3 or Shah Alam Line.

Facilities
As one of the larger LRT stations in the area, Ara Damansara LRT is quite well equipped to serve the area well.
Park & Ride
The station has a great Park and Ride set-up, with 817 parking bays. You can choose between open-air parking and also roofed parking.
Open-air parking is free, with bays usually taken up pretty quickly. The covered parking is paid.
The covered parking is underneath Perla, the condominium project beside the LRT station. There are plenty of bays here, although the lighting can be a bit of a challenge.
Parking charges start at RM4.30 per entry, with fees rising to RM5.30 for overnight parking. The parking machine accepts credit/debit cards, as well as TouchnGo.
Once you park, you can walk on the covered walkway to reach the platform. Walking from the furthest parking point may take you 5-7 minutes. There’s also a lift to help you shorten the walking journey.
Ticket Machines
There are several of your regular LRT ticket machines in the station. They are functional and should help you get single journey tokens easily.
However, for other transactions, you must go to the staffed counter. There are no TouchnGo top-up machines.
Mini Mart
Around the arrival and departure gates, there are several shops that you can drop by for quick pick-ups.
There is a MyNews mart, as well as some fruit shops and a small bakery. The options here are not going to match bigger LRT or MRT stations, but they should help deal with basic needs well.
Beam Scooter Station
One issue with Ara Damansara LRT station is its relative distance from major commercial areas. It is not too far away, but walking to it may be a chore, especially if you are coming from places such as Citta Mall or Oasis Damansara.
Fortunately, there’s a Beam scooter station. You at least have the option to rent scooters here and use them to travel back and forth from the station. Renting is affordable, costing as low as RM1.50 to start.
Grab Pickup Point
Suppose you have arrived at the LRT station and need a pickup. Ara Damansara LRT has a rather large pickup point where cars can swing by easily. Busses also stop here.
There is only one pick-up point at the station, making it easy and not confusing for many. The pickup point also functions as a drop-off point.
If you need to call for e-hailing, there is also a Grab pickup point at the entrance. This should make meeting up with your driver easy.
